The Take
Already-eliminated Dolomiti Energia Trento (2-3) will look to go out with a bang when it hosts group winner and undefeated Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar (5-0) in Round 6.
Loko already knows it will face Herbalife Gran Canaria in the quarterfinals, but will still play to keep its perfect record intact and to get the best overall Top 16 record, which would convey the potential home-court advantage in the semifinals and finals. In their only other previous EuroCup encounter, Loko won 97-69 at home behind 20 points from Ryan Broekhoff.
Trento has a solid offensive trio this season in Dominique Sutton (16.1 ppg., 6.1 rpg.), Shavon Shields (11.6 ppg.) and Jorge Gutierrez (11.3 ppg.).
On the other side, Loko looks to Joe Ragland (12.8 ppg., 5.0 apg.), Broekhoff (12.3 ppg.) and Trevor Lacey (10.8 ppg.).
Loko does not lead any of the major stats categories in the Top 16, but is the only undefeated team this season.
Trento will have to find motivation in the possibility to defeat such a solid group to say goodbye to the season, but Coach Sasa Obradovic will surely want to maintain the level of tension before going into the decisive rounds of the season.
The game takes place on February 7th at 9:00 p.m. Moscow time in Trento.
